Microchanneling After-Care Guide

Essential instructions for optimal healing and results

Understanding Your Treatment

Microchanneling temporarily creates thousands and thousands of micro-channels into the skin to be repaired by new healthy collagen. It also allows topical solutions to absorb 200%-300% more effectively into the living skin below.

During treatment, serums applied (containing naturally-derived growth factors, peptides and cytokines) restore and increase biological communication within the skin during the wound-healing cascade that an aging immune system no longer provides.

This is why we recover and heal slower as we get older. A perfect balance of gentle stimulation for your skin to youthfully heal and repair itself, complimented by the infusion of nutritious and vital factors responsible for helping you produce... your best skin!

Essential After-Care Instructions

Important Warnings

DO NOT Touch Treated Areas

Do not touch treated areas with your hands, cellphone or any other foreign objects for 90 minutes after your treatment is finished! Bacteria from these sources can cause irritation or possible acne breakout.

DO NOT Apply Products

DO NOT apply anything to treated areas for 90 minutes after your treatment is finished unless it is provided to you by your certified ProCell provider with instructions.

Care Instructions

Sun Protection

Avoid direct sunlight for 24 hours post treatment. You may apply sunscreen 90 minutes after your treatment is finished.

Hydration Instructions

Hydrate and moisturize your skin constantly to achieve the best results! Never let your skin dry out! If you experience excessive dryness in the days or weeks following your treatment, you can purchase additional post-treatment hydrating masks through your certified ProCell provider!

Water Is Key!

Water is the least expensive and most powerful advantage you can add to your daily skincare routine!

Signs Your Treatment Is Working

Things your skin may be feeling that are signs the treatment is working!

Tightness

A feeling of skin tautness indicates collagen production is beginning. This is a positive sign that your skin is responding to the treatment.

Itchiness

Mild itching is a sign of skin cell regeneration and healing. Avoid scratching and apply approved moisturizer if needed.

Warmth

Increased blood flow to the area promotes healing and nutrient delivery. This warmth is part of your body's natural healing response.

Sensitivity

Temporary sensitivity indicates your skin is responding to treatment. This will subside as healing progresses.

Mild Sunburn Look

This appearance shows increased circulation and cellular activity. The skin is actively working to repair itself.

Redness

Temporary redness indicates inflammation that triggers healing. This is a normal part of the skin's repair process.

These are all great indications that your skin is healing and producing youthful collagen!

Frequently Asked Questions

Most clients notice an immediate "glow" and visible skin improvement within 24 hours. More significant results develop over time as collagen production increases. Full results are typically seen after 4-6 weeks, with continued improvement as collagen remodeling occurs over the following months.

For optimal results, a series of 3-6 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart is recommended. Your provider will create a personalized treatment plan based on your specific skin concerns and goals. Maintenance treatments every 3-6 months can help sustain and enhance your results over time.

You can gradually reintroduce your normal skincare products after 24-48 hours, starting with gentle, non-active products. Avoid using products containing retinol, alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), or other active ingredients for at least 5-7 days after treatment. Always consult with your provider for personalized guidance.

It's best to avoid makeup for the remainder of the day after your treatment. You may resume gentle makeup application the following day, preferably using mineral-based products that won't clog pores. Make sure your makeup brushes and applicators are clean to prevent introducing bacteria to your treated skin.

Some redness is normal and expected. If you experience excessive redness, irritation, or any concerning symptoms, contact your provider immediately for guidance. Avoid applying any products not recommended by your provider. Cool compresses can help reduce inflammation, but avoid ice directly on the skin.

It's best to avoid strenuous exercise for 24-48 hours after your treatment. Excessive sweating can irritate the treated skin and potentially introduce bacteria. Light walking and gentle movement are fine. After 48 hours, you can gradually resume your normal exercise routine while being mindful of cleansing your skin properly afterward.

Additional Care Tips

Sleep on a clean pillowcase with your head slightly elevated to reduce swelling

Avoid alcohol and smoking which can impair healing and collagen production

If you notice flaking, do not pick or peel! Continue hydrating and the skin will naturally shed

Take progress photos in the same lighting to track your skin's improvement over time
